One of my most cherished memories is from when I was four, and I created a chocolate cake with my Gran. We had an absolute blast, laughing and making a delightful mess in the process. Covered in flour and chocolate, we adorned the cake with fresh strawberries, savoring a slice for each one we added.
The joy of that moment stuck with me, especially since the cake was meant for my mom's birthday. At the end of our baking adventure, my dad came to pick me up, and I eagerly carried the cake, brimming with love and pride, to present it to my mom.
However, her reaction caught me off guard."Why are you so messy?" she questioned, her frustration apparent as she scolded my dad for being late and instructed him to clean me up.
Caught up in the preparations for the party guests' arrival, she didn't spare a moment to appreciate the gift I had poured my heart into. This incident became a recurring theme, and my creations went unnoticed or criticized, leading me to shy away from expressing my creativity. I encountered more instances where my heartfelt efforts were met with disapproval rather than appreciation.
During a period of creative rediscovery, I committed to drawing butterflies for 30 consecutive days, dedicating just 10 minutes each day to this practice. The act of creation filled me with energy and a sense of achievement as I witnessed my skills progressing over time. This creative endeavor enhanced my artistic abilities and uplifted my spirits for other pursuits. Have you considered revisiting a past passion for just 10 minutes daily?
